The Bible In A Word \u2013 Jesus<\/strong>
\nThe Bible is a book of amazing harmony—a book with one central message or theme. One writer has suggested that Jesus is that underlying theme of the entire Scriptures. He is the winding string from Genesis to Revelation that binds the book together. He is the \u201cSOMEONE\u201d who was to come in the view of the Old Testament. He is the \u201cSOMEONE\u201d who came in the view of the Gospel accounts; and He is the \u201cSOMEONE\u201d who is to come again, in the view of the history of Acts and the Epistles and Revelation: The One who \u201cIs, Was, and Ever Shall Be.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not Only Is He the central theme of the Bible, He is also the summary statement of the message of God\u2019s Word. It can and will be illustrated that the message of the Bible is ONE with its \u201cmessage-giver,\u201d and that its \u201cmessage-giver\u201d is the very epitome of the message itself! Take all the message of the Bible and fashion a man–His name would be \u201cJesus.\u201d<\/p>\n

Friends, there is an amazing harmony within the word of God that demonstrates that Christ is one with the Father. When we see Jesus, we see God. He is the epitome of what God is like as revealed to us. Notice the oneness of the Father to the Son and Son to the Father: \u201cJesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works\u2019 sake\u201d (John 14:9-11)<\/p>\n

Furthermore, when we see Jesus, we see the Word of God: for He was that Word. \u201cIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God . . . And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth\u201d (John 1:1,14). The same Word that holds the universe in order is the Word that at a moment in history became flesh, and now in written form holds the key to our spiritual life.<\/p>\n

When one sees Jesus, he sees the qualities of the Bible that make it so endearing to us: TRUTH, Jesus Is Truth Personified: \u201cAnd the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth\u201d (John 1:14). LOVE is the strong message of the Bible. Jesus\u2019 life epitomizes that love. LIGHT, Jesus said \u201cAs long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world\u201d (John 9:5). LIFE \u201cIn him was life; and the life was the light of men\u201d (John 1 :4).<\/p>\n

What has been said of these qualities of both the Word of God and the Life of Christ could be said of so many other attributes: Faithfulness, Peace, Hope. Truly Jesus is the summary of all that the Bible is and all that it has to say to make our lives meaningful.<\/p>\n
