The Rebuild Alabama Act requires ATRIP-II to be an annual program setting aside a minimum of $30 million off the top of ALDOT’s share of new gas tax revenue for projects of local interest on the state highway system.

The projects were selected by the ATRIP-II Committee created by the Rebuild Alabama Act. It is anticipated that a number of projects will be under contract during the 2021 fiscal year, however all projects are required to move forward within two years of the awarding of funds.

Scottsboro Mayor Jim McCamy stated, “I want to thank Governor Ivey and the ATRIP-II Committee for selecting Scottsboro as a recipient of this grant. I also want to thank State Senator Steve Livingston and ALDOT Director John Cooper for their guidance and support in this grant process. We applied for this $1.4 million grant in November. This ATRIP-II funding will be combined with a Safety Grant the city received in 2019 to complete a safety upgrade and improvements to the U.S. 72 and County Park Road intersection and extend existing access roads. We plan to start the design phase as soon as possible.”

For more information about the ATRIP-II Program, visit https://www.dot.state.al.us/atrip2/.

MONTGOMERY – Governor Kay Ivey and the Alabama Department of Transportation on Tuesday announced that more than $45 million in funding is being awarded to cities and counties for various road and bridge projects.

[15

post-4064","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news
["GET
