He served in the United States Army, including the Korean War.<br \/>\nHe leaves behind his wife, Carmen Maria Rivera Newton; sons, Danny (Sherry) Newton, Scott Newton, Tony Newton; daughters, Susan (Paul) Smith, Shirley Jones; grandchildren, Tiffany Newton, Daniel Newton, Morgan Newton, Adam Newton, Tyler Coffman; several nieces and nephews.
