{"id":3108,"date":"2020-10-07T07:35:22","date_gmt":"2020-10-07T13:35:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theclarion.org\/?p=3108"},"modified":"2020-10-07T07:36:02","modified_gmt":"2020-10-07T13:36:02","slug":"3108","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.theclarion.org\/?p=3108","title":{"rendered":"Council approves contingencies for new development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Scottsboro City Council approved two requests from White Development Company to allow for two projects at the last City Council meeting held on Monday, September 28, 2020. <!--more-->White represented its tenant, a popular national grocer that will be installed in an approximate 74-thousand square foot grocery-anchored shopping complex with new retail space for national tenants but also local entrepreneurs. The development will be located at the northwest corner of Highway 72 and State Road 35.<\/p>\n<p>Acting on behalf of the tenant, White presented the first contingency of the addition of a traffic signal, at cost to city at an estimated amount of $225,000. The signal should be functioning for four months before the projected opening of June 1, 2022. In addition, Council also approved the second contingency, allowing funds of $125,000 for the construction of a sewer extension to the property along the frontage road.<\/p>\n<p>Council also voted and approved the city\u2019s first responders on pay-level 17 to be moved to level 18.
