The City of Scottsboro is appointing Major Ron Latimer as the Interim Police Chief beginning June 1, 2020. He will be taking over for Chief Ralph Dawe who served as Police Chief for 14 years.
\nThe city will go through the formal application and interview process for the new police chief late summer through early fall.
\nMajor Ron Latimer has been with the Scottsboro Police Department since November 1992. He worked in the Patrol and Detective divisions for 14 years and has also been the Major (Asst. Police Chief) for the past 14 years.
\nMajor Latimer has a B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama, is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He is also a member of the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police.
