This long-standing commitment highlights Scottsboro\u2019s efforts to create a greener, healthier community.<!--more--> <br \/>\nBy\u00a0prioritizing tree care and sustainability, the city joins a nationwide network of communities working to improve air quality, reduce energy costs, and enhance public well-being.<\/p>\n<p>To receive this distinction, a city must meet four core requirements: maintaining a tree board, enforcing a community tree ordinance, investing at least $2 per capita in urban forestry, and hosting an Arbor Day celebration. Scottsboro has consistently met these standards for four decades.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor 40 years, Scottsboro has been committed to preserving and growing our urban forest, and we are honored to once again be recognized as a Tree City USA,\u201d said Mayor Jim McCamy. \u201cTrees play a vital role in making our city a healthier, more beautiful place to live, and this designation reflects our dedication to sustainability and community pride.
