Jackson County Farmers Federation recent team participants in the Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation Skeet Shoot were Phillip Thompson, Representative Mike Kirkland, Senator Steve Livingston and Mike Neal. The annual event was held November 1 at Selwood Farms in Alpine to raise money for Foundation scholarships, Ag in the Classroom and other programs supporting agricultural education and youth development. The mission of the Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation is \u201cto support and advance agriculture in the state of Alabama through education and research; increase awareness of agriculture in Alabama through public programs and activities; improve and expand agricultural services and products for the benefit of all citizens and to establish and maintain high standards in agriculture.\u201d<\/p>\n

Annually, the Foundation supports Alabama Ag in the Classroom and mini-grants for teachers; the Alabama Junior Livestock Expo; college scholarship programs; and the Alfa Youth Leadership Conference.<\/p>\n
