During the recent Scottsboro City Council meeting council members voted to allocate $10,000 in tourism grant funds to the Scottsboro BBQ Festival.
\nMembers approved the Rebuild Alabama Act Resolution in the amount of $190,900. These funds will go towards paving in the Lakeview Shores Subdivision.<\/p>\n
A motion to allocate $100,000 of Opiod Settlement Funds to the Jackson County Children\u2019s Advocacy Center was approved. Representatives of the center previously requested $300,000 due to a major cut in funding.<\/p>\n
A resolution to lower the speed limit on Byron Road was approved. The speed limit will go from 35 mph to 30 mph.<\/p>\n
A budget amendment for $25,751.18 was voted on and approved for fitness equipment in the Rec-Com Fitness Room. The funding will come from the Excess Sales Tax Fund.<\/p>\n
A budget amendment for professional services regarding the Bynum Park Renovation was approved in the amount of 19550. The funding will come from the Excess Sales Tax Fund.<\/p>\n
Deborah Dunsmore was reappointed as the Scottsboro Municipal Judge. Dunsmore was the only applicant.<\/p>\n
Two applicants applied and were appointed as Scottsboro Municipal Prosecutors. Patricia Stewart was reappointed. Gene Necklaus was newly appointed.<\/p>\n
