{"id":10386,"date":"2023-03-08T13:49:25","date_gmt":"2023-03-08T19:49:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theclarion.org\/?p=10386"},"modified":"2023-03-08T13:52:33","modified_gmt":"2023-03-08T19:52:33","slug":"casa-of-nsm-fundraiser-gala-coming-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.theclarion.org\/?p=10386","title":{"rendered":"CASA of NSM fundraiser Gala coming up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of North Sand Mountain, serving the children of Jackson and DeKalb counties, is hosting their Change A Child\u2019s Story Gala Fundraiser. <!--more-->The gala will take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 in Pisgah at the Moonlight Over Water venue, 9150 County Road 88.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets include dinner, dessert, music and entertainment. There will also be a live auction of framed artwork created by CASA children. The dress code is from denim to diamonds.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to sponsor the event, or if you have any questions, please contact Sarah Chamlee, Vice President at 256.659.8112.<\/p>\n<p>CASA provides advocacy, comfort, reassurance, protection and guidance to children navigating the legal system and procedures. There is a formal 30-hour training program, and advocates, upon completion, are sworn in by a judge and qualified to be assigned to a case by the court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore than 14,000 of Alabama\u2019s most vulnerable children are attending court hearings, adjusting to new homes and navigating the child welfare system every day. CASA volunteers are trained to advocate for the best interests of these children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Their goal is to provide a dedicated CASA volunteer for every abused and neglected child to give them a voice and help them thrive in a safe and loving home. Donate. Your funds go directly toward the training and outreach of more volunteers and the sustainment of this organization. They are a 501(c)3 organization, so donations are tax-deductible. Because they operate on only a partial grant, the rest of their crucial funding must run operations and must come from donations or fundraising.
